The work has two interpretive levels. It retraces the reinterpretation of the famous Christmas tale which sees Clara fall into a magical world, and it simultaneously tells the daydream that Jean-Christophe Maillot has been living since he was appointed Choreographer-Director of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo in 1993 by HRH The Princess of Hanover.
