Bronislava Nijinska, “Bronia” to her loved ones, was the daughter, sister, wife, lover, and mother of dancers. A creator, educator, performer, rehearsal director, and writer on dance, everything in Bronia’s life was deeply connected to the walls of a theater. The theater was not only her creative refuge but also the place where she rebelled against the limitations imposed by society because of her gender. In a world dominated by male figures, often overshadowed by the fame of her brother Vaslav Nijinsky and under the influence of Sergei Diaghilev, Nijinska dared to defy expectations, making the stage and dance spaces of resistance.
